It is one of the oldest amusement parks in the world. Cedar Point was opened in 1870 with nothing but a beach, a bathhouse, and a few small attractions. Today it is one of the largest and most successful seasonal parks around. The park is famous primarily for its world class collection of roller coasters, containing 16 coasters of different style, speed and height. Cedar Point also has stuck to their roots by continuing to offer guests the resort feel with hundreds of hotel rooms, a mini golf and go-kart park, an outdoor and indoor waterpark, and the beach, which is still a popular spot.

Visit the park during the week, it is huge local and regional fan base with the weekend crowds.

As usual it offers discounts through various northern Ohio retailers, including fast food and gas stations. Cedar Point also sells tickets online, usually at a discount, via its website.

You may also have Cedar Point resorts discount packages containing hotel stay, tickets to the park and various other attractions, parking passes, and food vouchers for the park. They are relatively inexpensive, and offer extras such as entry into the park an hour early, and early rides on the park's most popular attractions.

Arrive before the park opens at 10 a.m., wait times on the park's roller coasters can exceed two hours even on slower days. Take a Freeway hand stamp to reserve a time on Raptor on your way to Top Thrill Dragster. Then get a Freeway hand stamp for one of the other major coasters: Millennium Force, Magnum XL-2000, Mantis or Wicked Twister. The longest wait is on Millennium. Then you may try the other coasters. Except on the busiest days, Cedar Point's non-coaster rides usually do not have very long waits, so you can visit those of your choosing at your convenience.

The park's largest collection of rides for children is located at Camp Snoopy. Plus county fair-style kids’ flat rides are available in the Gemini Jr. Play Area, next to Camp Snoopy, and the Kiddie Kingdom, off the Main Midway. Children may also like the Peanuts Playground, located between the Main and Wicked Twister Midways, with classic amusement rides like the Carousel, Railroad, Giant Wheel and Space Spiral.

You may try another way of enjoying your time at the park.  Utilize the north entrance to the park and start from the back, heading to the front. Most guests begin their day in the front of the park, and you are likely to enjoy a few quick rides in the back. And by the time you get to the front, the crowd will spread out.
